Kalee Kennedy ’15

On the night of September 20th, 2013, the lights on the DeGroat Field illuminated the night sky. The players of Wilmington Friends School and Tower Hill warmed up.  A crowd of white filled the home bleachers, and the enthusiastic Hillers sounded their vuvuzelas.

After Senior Rachel League sang the National Anthem, the game commenced. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. The score was a tie for most of the game, and everyone expected it to go into extra time.  But then Senior Zach Nitsche passed the ball to Senior Mark Christie in the last minute to score the winning goal.

It was a tough game against Friends, but all the emotions were worth it.  Congrats boys’ soccer team!
